Paul Millsap is doing everything in his power to avoid his recent trade rumors to become a distraction for the Atlanta Hawks going forward.

The 10-year veteran met with head coach Mike Budenholzer in order to clear the waters and make sure they’re both on the same page.

“I can’t tell you (what was said) but we sat down and talked,” Millsap told Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Our main focus is winning games right now. The focus is on basketball.”

“We talked holistically, big picture, basketball, typical conversation that Bud and I may have. We spoke. It was (important) for us to sit down and talk to each other, especially with everything that is circulating out there. Get back to what you have to do to focus on basketball.”

While the Louisiana Tech standout seemed satisfied after the meeting, he admitted he still has “no clue” of the intentions of the organization regarding his whereabouts in the near future.

The Hawks are reportedly actively listening to offers for the 31-year-old power forward despite Millsap expressing just how much he wants to stay in Atlanta, the city he now calls home.

The Toronto Raptors and the Denver Nuggets are two of the teams reportedly expressing strong interest in the versatile four-man.
