Paul Pierce caused quite a stir when he said that Kevin Durant may be the best basketball player in the world earlier following the Golden State Warriors‘ win in Game 2 of the Finals a few days ago. While many believe LeBron James owns that title, the recently retired forward claimed that it’s Durant’s and even called his statement as “Truth Juice.”

After yet another win by the Dubs in Game 3 and a brilliant performance from the former MVP, The Truth took to his Twitter account to remind everyone of what he said three nights ago.

As the series progresses, Durant is strengthening Pierce’s comments by continuing to play better and producing impressive numbers. On Wednesday night, he scored 31 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists. His performance was capped off by a clutch go-ahead three-pointer late in the game.

Should the Warriors win the title this year, and even sweep the Cavs, it will be the perfect ending to Durant’s first season with his new team. With a championship under his belt, it will also solidify his case as an all-time great and prove more evidence for Pierce's statement, by defeating James and the Cavs on the biggest stage.

On a side note we should all be proud that Paul Pierce has finally figured out how to use emojis on Twitter.
