Paul Pierce had an amazing NBA career most of which was spent as a member of the Boston Celtics. He was the face of that franchise even when they were nowhere near contenders. The peak of his career was when he, along with big man Kevin Garnett, sharpshooter Ray Allen, and a young Rajon Rondo, led Boston to a championship.

Pierce’s jersey was retired by the Celtics. Only special players have the honor of having their jerseys hoisted up in the rafters, but to do so with arguably the most iconic basketball franchise in the NBA is even more impressive.

As stellar as Pierce’s career on the court was, the same could not be said about his takes as an analyst. After all, this is the same polarizing Paul Pierce who said the Duke Blue Devils led by Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett, one of the most hyped-up collegiate teams of all time could beat the 2018-2019 Cleveland Cavaliers, a team that finished with 19 wins.

Regardless of  where Paul Pierce ends up, he will be bringing name recognition and surprising opinions with him.
