Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of reason to be excited for their team this coming season, especially with the addition of Lonzo Ball to their fold. He has played very well during the Summer League, as he was named MVP, and in two preseason games, once again showcased his brilliant all-around game. However, outside of L.A., he may not be the most liked player, and many are still not convinced he can continue playing at a high level throughout the coming season.

Others also questioned his competitive spirit, as he opted not to play in the summer against De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings. He has been called out by this year’s fifth overall pick for it, claiming that he ducked him. Now, a former Kings player, and one of the best centers in the game today, DeMarcus Cousins, has asked him not to continue doing that anymore.

Ball and Fox competed against each other back in college, and it can be recalled that the Kentucky star guard outplayed his counterpart by scoring 39 points on him. However, they have not met as professionals yet, as Ball once again did not suit up on Sunday, as he is recovering from a mild ankle sprain.

With Cousins calling Ball out, it goes to show that even the stars of the league are also very interested in seeing how he fares against Fox now that they are in the NBA. It remains to be seen when they’ll face off once again, but one thing that’s certain is that the New Orleans Pelicans center will most likely be watching the game, together with millions of fans around the world.
