The New Orleans Pelicans are in Golden State Wednesday taking on the Warriors, so of course, local reporters asked Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry about DeMarcus Cousins.

Cousins, who played last year with New Orleans, is expected to make his season and Warriors debut on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. Boogie tore his Achilles tendon last year with the Pelicans in January, and the injury completely shattered his free agent market, forcing him to sign a $5.3 million deal with the world champs.

Alvin Gentry, when asked if he has any thoughts about DeMarcus Cousins and how the All-Star center will fit in with the Warriors, gave a pretty straightforward answer to reporters:

DeMarcus Cousins and the Pelicans reportedly didn't end on good terms. The scoring big man supposedly turned down an extension from New Orleans during the season after he tore his Achilles. Once free agency started on July 1, 2018, the Pelicans reportedly never contacted Cousins or his representation.

However, Alvin Gentry and Cousins are said to be on good terms. It's just that Gentry doesn't really have a reason to comment on how another player is going to fair with a different team, even if it is a player he coached before.

It's highly doubtful anyone outside of Golden State is curious to see how Cousins is going to play with the Warriors.
