Following Saturday's tough 126-114 loss at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry could not help but focus on his team's recent injury woes.

According to Gentry, he feels that his team are currently undermanned with all the injuries they have been dealing with.

“We're not feeling sorry for ourselves, but obviously, we're outmanned,” Gentry said, via ESPN. “But I thought the guys tried to do everything they could. We hung in and hung in and eventually the rebounding part is going to hurt you.”

On Saturday, the Pelicans were without three of their most important players with Anthony Davis, Nikola Mirotic, and Julius Randle all out of commission due to their respective injuries.

The team's cornerstone superstar, Anthony Davis, has been out of action for a week now due to a finger injury, and according to an earlier report, the MVP contender is expected to be out for up to two weeks.

The Pelicans lost Mirotic on Wednesday to a calf issue, and his injury does not look good. Gentry himself expressed concern over the 27-year-old's status, stating that he expects Mirotic to be out “for a while.”

Finally, Randle is dealing with a a right ankle sprain, which has already caused him two games thus far. However, he does appear to be nearing a return, as he was actually given a questionable tag prior to Saturday's matchup against the Spurs.

The very shorthanded Pelicans were unable to contain the Spurs on Saturday, who themselves were without All-Star swingman DeMar DeRozan (knee), as New Orleans suffered their third straight loss and their fifth in the last six games.
