New Orleans Pelicans veteran guard Jrue Holiday had another noteworthy performance for his squad on Friday, as he led his team to a formidable challenge against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pelicans eventually lost out to the home team, 109-104, but this does very little to take away from Holiday's outstanding effort for New Orleans all season long.

So much so, that three-time NBA champ Andre Iguodala, has taken notice of Holiday's unmatched defensive prowess. In Iguodala's mind, there is no better defender in the league right now than the Pelicans combo guard.

That's quite a compliment coming from Iguodala, who himself has been known to be a great defender throughout his career. The former Golden State Warriors stalwart is a two-time All-Defensive Team member, so in this respect, Iguodala definitely knows what he's talking about. For those who may be wondering, the reason why we haven't seen him on the court this season is because Iguodala refuses to play for his current team, the Memphis Grizzlies, as he tries to force a move away from the rebuilding Grizzlies.

As for Holiday, the 29-year-old has been nothing short of amazing for his team this season, following the summer departure of former cornerstone superstar Anthony Davis. With rookie sensation Zion Williamson still yet to make his debut, the Pelicans are relying heavily on Holiday to be the main man for the squad.

The All-Star guard has heeded the call, and is currently putting up 19.0 points (on 43.5 percent shooting), 5.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, a career-high 2.1 steals, and 0.8 blocks, while also draining 1.9 3-pointers per game on a 34.8-percent clip.
