The New Orleans Pelicans have had a solid offseason considering the fact that they lost star DeMarcus Cousins to the Golden State Warriors. His teammate and star Anthony Davis wanted him there long-term, but Cousins elected to join the defending back-to-back NBA Champions in free agency as he recovers from an Achilles tear.

Angel Diaz of Complex sat down with Davis for an interview about a number of topics, and Cousins was one of the topics that came up in the talks. What does Davis really think of Cousins move to the West Coast? It's as simple as ‘he's the enemy.'

I mean, I'm happy for him. He did what he did. He chose the right team for his career right now with his injury, I'm assuming. I wish the best of luck to him and we'll see him three maybe four times this year, and try to beat him. Now he's the enemy. Anybody who's not on the Pelicans is an enemy to me. He went from a teammate to an enemy.

Davis averaged a career high 28.1 points last season to go along with 11.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists ,1.5 steals, and 2.6 blocks per game on 53.4 percent shooting from the field. He helped the Pelicans to the playoffs, going nuts following Cousins' Achilles tear, upping his game and averaging 30.1 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.0 steals, and 3.2 blocks per game on 51.2 percent shooting.

The Pelicans are one of the teams expected to be in a heated race for the playoffs in the 2018-19 season, and they'll have more competition with the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring LeBron James in free agency.
