New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis wanted to join in on the fun with Portland Trail Blazers teammates' Damian Lillard and Jusuf Nurkic.

Lillard and Nurkic were having a nice little drink while taking a dip in a hot tub in tropical paradise and streamed their two-man party on Instagram live. That's when Davis chimed in and asked why he wasn't invited.

Twitter user Claire De Lune caught Davis with his comment:

Davis to the Blazers?

Kidding aside, while this simple comment from AD most certainly means nothing at all, it's still a scenario worth exploring.

Come to think of it, Portland might actually be a landing spot that makes sense for the disgruntled Pelicans big man. He did, however, explicitly express that the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks are on the top of his desired list of teams.

Nevertheless, Davis doesn't have much control over that as he is still signed with the Pelicans for one more season. A team like Portland, who could be one more major piece away from being a legitimate title contender, might be willing to swoop in the AD sweepstakes and make the gamble for a potential one-year rental to upgrade their chances for a championship.

Some teams have made this gamble over the past few years. The Oklahoma City Thunder did this with Paul George and ultimately got him to stay, though so far, they haven't had much success with it. Likewise, the Toronto Raptors gambled by trading for Kawhi Leonard, and now they are on the cusp of winning their first ever NBA championship.
