Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans admitted that he's flattered by Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James' comments. However, the big man wants to remain focused on helping out his team this season.

Zach Lowe of ESPN asked Davis what he felt about James wanting to play alongside him. Though flattered by the comments, Davis immediately reverted back to his current team which sports a 15-17 record.

“I don't really care. Obviously, it's cool to hear any high-caliber player say they want to play with me. But my job is to turn this team around. If we're 15-17, that means I'm not doing my job.”

All eyes have been on Anthony Davis as of late. Analysts believe that he's that other superstar player who can immediately turn the Lakers into a championship contender. He won't be a free agent until the summer of 2020. But as always, anything can happen in the NBA.  When Davis joined Klutch Sports, LeBron James' agency, many believed that it was the first step of a Davis-James power duo in LA. But Davis downplayed the rumors, noting that he just felt that it was the perfect time to make the move:

“It was just time to make a switch,” he said. “It was something I wanted to do.”

The rumors are only going to get loud as another trade deadline approaches. By now, Davis is already aware of the infinite possibilities in the league.

“When that time comes, of course we will see,” Davis said. “I love my teammates. I love New Orleans. I love the fans. I talk their slang. I love their food.”

This love for the New Orleans culture just might be the deciding factor if Davis stays or not. But then again, who knows?
