Anthony Davis' father doesn't want his son to play for the Boston Celtics and it's all because of how the franchise treated former point guard Isaiah Thomas.

Anthony Davis, who has requested a trade from the Pelicans, has been linked to the Celtics. However, Anthony Davis Sr. says if it was up to him, he would keep his son away from Boston.

Via Ramona Shelburne of ESPN:

“I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas,” Anthony Davis Sr. told ESPN on Friday. “No loyalty. Guy gives his heart and soul and they traded him.

“This is just my opinion, not Anthony's,” he said. “I've just seen things over the years with Boston and there's no loyalty.”

The Celtics traded Isaiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the summer of 2017 for Kyrie Irving. Thomas played on a serious hip injury during the 2017 postseason, and also continued to play despite losing his sister in a car crash. The trade hurt Thomas very deeply and it looks like Anthony Davis' father didn't like how Danny Ainge handled the whole situation.

Davis can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020. It is widely believed the superstar wants to play with LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers.
