New Orleans Pelicans talisman Anthony Davis suffered his second consecutive injury scare on Wednesday, rolling his left ankle after battling for a rebound against Sacramento Kings center Kosta Koufos in the third quarter.

Davis did not return in the team's 114-101 win over the Kings, which marked the Pelicans' 10th straight victory.

Head coach Alvin Gentry said Davis is slated for an MRI on Thursday once the team returns to New Orleans.

“Won't know anything until tomorrow,” Gentry said, according to ESPN. “They took X-rays but couldn't really tell a lot from the X-rays, so we'll go back home, and I'm sure he'll have an MRI at some stage tomorrow, and we'll have more information.”

Davis was precautionarily taken to the locker room after exiting at the 3:11 mark of the third, which would be his last stint on the court for the day.

The 6-foot-11 big man had a momentary exit in a Tuesday night game against the L.A. Clippers, leaving with hip discomfort, but returning shortly after.

“I feel fine, but they'll have the team doctor look at it tomorrow and go from there,” Davis said after the game. “Any time you twist an ankle it hurts, especially coming off somebody's foot, because you really don't have any protection. It was sore. I just wanted to make sure everything was fine.”

The Pelicans have railed the longest win streak of their season and are fiercely competing to keep their spot on the top of the board, now with a full game of separation with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs.
