New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis just raised his middle finger to a fan as he walked to the locker room. Not long after, the big man explained what happened.

Apparently, an old fan was trying to get Davis' attention by flipping him off. Davis responded with a middle finger of his own.

In a conversation thru Instagram, Davis revealed that the fan ‘disrespected' him by saying something he didn't like which triggered him to retaliate.

As of this writing, a clip showing the fans' actions hasn't resurfaced just yet. All we have is Anthony Davis flipping the bird and his side of the story. Does this incident warrant an investigation by the Pelicans organization or the NBA? Time will only tell.

But from the looks of it, it's another player-fan encounter which did not end well. The NBA has proved that they're not taking such interactions lightly. This season, several fans have been banned from the basketball arenas after displaying bad behavior towards players. Players themselves, too, were fined for misconduct.

These incidents shed a light on the bad side on how fans behave towards players and vice versa. Like they always say, trash talking is part of the game. But there a line one shouldn't cross, and both parties should know that.
