New Orleans Pelicans superstar big man Anthony Davis reportedly hasn't had any substantial discussions with his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, about his future, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Davis' future in New Orleans has been a hot topic around the NBA ever since the star signed with Rich Paul before the 2018-19 season started.

Paul, of course, represents Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James, and many believe the super agent is trying to get AD to the Lakers somehow.

“Rich Paul, Anthony Davis' agent, told me they have not had any real substantial discussions about Anthony's future in New Orleans with the Pelicans,” Wojnarowski said on ESPN's NBA Countdown on Wednesday, via RealGM. “Anthony's focus has been on the playoff picture. There's no promises about his future beyond the trade deadline. It's safe to say right now, I think he'll be there beyond the trade deadline.

“New Orleans does not want to trade him. They will have to be forced into doing that.”

The Pelicans can offer Anthony Davis the supermax extension this summer. If Davis turns it down, New Orleans has to give serious consideration into trading their franchise player out of fear of losing him for nothing.

Davis can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020 if he doesn't sign the supermax extension.
