With the 2017-18 NBA season officially in the books, teams have now shifted gears towards the offseason. The biggest storyline of the summer will be which team Cleveland Cavaliers small forward LeBron James will sign with in free agency.

It goes without saying that any player would relish the opportunity to play alongside James. Even New Orleans Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis, who recently liked a picture of “The King” in a uniform, via Bleacher Report:

There has been plenty of speculation about which team James will pick this offseason. The Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets have been pegged as the early favorites to land his services. However, the possibility of him heading down to the Big Easy is certainly an intriguing one.

New Orleans showed plenty of promise in the playoffs. They even managed to steal one game away from the Golden State Warriors without star center DeMarcus Cousins, which is something James could not even do this postseason. Speaking of which, the Pelicans have made it clear that re-signing Cousins will be their top priority in free agency. That said, a trio of James, Davis, and Cousins would undoubtedly form the most talented frontcourt in NBA history.

Of course, New Orleans would have to move some pieces around to even make this a possibility. That could include having to part ways with guard Jrue Holiday, who established himself as one of the premier two-way players in the league. However, he is set to make $25 million next season which will likely have to be used in order to sign James. Whatever the case may be, it appears Davis is on board with whatever gets him in New Orleans.
