New Orleans Pelicans superstar forward Anthony Davis has been an absolute beast this season. On Saturday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, that trend continued when Davis had a monster 47-point performance and the Pelicans held on for a thrilling 131-123 victory in Game 4 to sweep the Blazers.

Immediately after the win, Davis was interviewed on TNT and spoke about an all-but-certain matchup with the defending champion Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals.

“I’ll love it. In my first time going to the playoffs, they swept us. So I will love to have that matchup again, especially the way we’re playing,” Davis said.

The Warriors, who currently have a commanding 3-0 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs, will look to complete their own four-game sweep on Sunday afternoon during Game 4 at AT&T Center.

Both Davis and Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday could not be stopped by the Blazers on the night. The star forward finished with a playoff career-high 47 points on 15-of-24 shooting from the field and 15-of-17 from the free-throw line, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

“It was fun,” Davis said, per an article by Rod Walker of The Advocate. “I just try to go out every game and play to the best of my ability and help the team win. I want to build a legacy here in New Orleans and let people know that we are for real.”

As for Holiday, the 27-year-old guard exploded for 41 points on 15-of-23 shooting from the field, eight assists, and three rebounds in 41 minutes of action.

Even without the services of star center DeMarcus Cousins, this Pelicans team has surprised a lot of people down the stretch of the season and look very dangerous right now.
