New Orleans Pelicans superstar power forward Anthony Davis texted head coach Alvin Gentry that he left the stadium while the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder was still going on to get an MRI on his left shoulder Thursday night, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

When TNT aired the video of Davis leaving the Smoothie King Center with agent Rich Paul, it created a firestorm on social media. Davis reportedly told ex-general manager Dell Demps he was leaving the arena, but Demps never told Gentry and the coach had to face the reporters right after the game, not knowing where Davis was.

Looks like Davis and Gentry, though, connected after the game via text:

Every day, this Davis saga just keeps on getting worse. For the sake of all parties involved being done with this constant drama, the NBA needs to step in just say it's okay for Anthony Davis to sit out the rest of the season.

The Pelicans aren't going to make the playoffs. The fans in New Orleans are booing Davis every time he touches the ball. The arena was basically empty on Thursday, so the NBA can't even say that the fans deserve to watch The Brow play because there weren't even that many people at the game on Thursday.

Anthony Davis is putting himself at risk every time he steps onto the floor playing for a team which he doesn't want to play for. Luckily for him and the Pelicans, Davis' shoulder injury isn't considered serious.
