The New Orleans Pelicans were 2.6 seconds away from clinching a close home win over the Toronto Raptors. All they needed was for Brandon Ingram to sink the insurance free-throws to seal the game. Up by two, the All-Star forward sank the first freebie to extend New Orleans' lead to three.

With his confidence at an all-time high after recently being named Western Conference Player of the Week, Ingram already called it a night for the Raps even prior to taking his second free-throw. Of course, the former no. 2 overall pick calmly swished the freebie to get the 120-116 win for the Pels.

Ingram was getting ā€œMVPā€ chants from the 700 or so fans at the Smoothie King Center and he certainly did not let the hometown crowd down.

The 23-year old has certainly been on a roll for the Pelicans and all the signs are there for another leap this 2020-21 season. Ingram, who also made his first All-Star team, won the league's Most Improved Player award the previous campaign and looks poised to rise to another level in his fourth year in the NBA.

The 6-foot-7 wing led the Pelicans on Saturday with a game-high 31 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field and 4-of-8 night from beyond the arc. Ingram also made 11 of his 14 free-throw attempts, none of which were bigger than the final two he made to seal the deal. The lanky forward also finished with six rebounds and four assists on the evening.

Ingram has certainly been the best player for the Pelicans through the young season so far. His incredible play has helped New Orleans get off to a 4-2 start.
