With a chance to potentially make the playoffs for the first time in his six-year career, you can bet that Brandon Ingram had no intention of letting his nagging hamstring injury prevent him from suiting up tonight for the New Orleans Pelicans.
Pelicans head coach Willie Green announced earlier this evening that the Pelicans' young star would not only be suiting up tonight in the teams' single-elimination game vs the San Antonio Spurs, but Ingram will not be subject to a minutes restriction tonight either.
After Coach Green confirmed yesterday that Ingram would be suiting up for the steel cage match in the ‘Big Easy' tonight, the fact that Ingram will not be on a minutes restriction for the Pelicans will surely allow Pelicans fans to breath a sigh of relief heading into gametime.
With Zion Williamson absent all season and unfortunately not healthy enough to participate in the win-or-go-home game tonight at the Smoothie King Center, the Pelicans will be heavily reliant on Ingram, C.J. McCollum, and Jonas Valančiūnas to carry the bulk of the offense, just as the trio have done since McCollum was acquired by the Pelicans at the trade deadline.
For the season, Ingram ranks in the 96th percentile in usage % for the Pelicans amongst all NBA players at 30.7%, per Cleaning The Glass.
