New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram seems to be enjoying his offseason. The former No. 2 overall pick was recently in the Bahamas, where he was spotted playing the steel drums with a local band.

Surprisingly, Ingram isn't all that bad on the steel drums. In fact, he kept the tempo, but he'll need a bit more practice to take his talent to the next level:

Brandon Ingram was traded to the Pelicans on July 6, 2019, as part of a multi-player deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 21-year-old dealt with a bout of deep venous thrombosis last season, which led to a surgical procedure. Now, however, he says he's “pretty close” to resuming normal workouts, though he remains without an official timetable for return.

In 52 appearances with the Lakers last season, Ingram racked up averages of 18.3 points on 49.7 percent shooting from the field (33.0 percent from beyond the arc), 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 33.8 minutes per outing.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Ingram's blood clots differ from those of Chris Bosh, who was forced to stop playing due to the ailment. Still, the Pelicans will likely take a cautious approach to Ingram's return.

New Orleans finished the 2018-19 regular season with a 33-49 overall record, which left the team well out of playoff contention. Hopefully, with the addition of Ingram and others, the Pelicans will find their way back into the hunt.
