New Orleans Pelicans small forward Brandon Ingram will likely miss Monday's game against the Detroit Pistons.

Ingram has a sore right knee. He's missed four games this season for the same knee issue:

The Pelicans are 14-26 on the season. They have the same record as the Pistons. New Orleans lost to Detroit earlier in the season on a Derrick Rose game-winner at the buzzer.

In 36 games this season for the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram is averaging 25.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists. He's shooting 47.6 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from beyond the arc and 86.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Ingram figures to get paid next summer when he enters restricted free agency. As a restricted free agent, Ingram can sign an offer sheet with any team and then the Pelicans would have 48 hours to match the deal or let the talented swingman walk for nothing. Ingram is making $7.3 million this season. His qualifying offer is worth $9.5 million.

ESPN insider Zach Lowe believes Ingram will get a max contract next summer in restricted free agency:

“Oh he’s going to get the max,” Lowe said on The Lowe Post. “I don’t think there’s any question about that. By the way, I don’t fault the Pelicans for not extending him (on a rookie-scale extension).”

Ingram is going to get a huge payday over the summer. Whether that’s from the Pelicans or some other team remains to be seen.
