The New Orleans Pelicans fell short in their attempt to topple the Los Angeles Lakers on their home floor, with L.A. emerging victorious, 123-113. It was a warm reception for former Lakers forward Brandon Ingram, who made the move to New Orleans as part of the Anthony Davis deal last summer along with former Purple and Gold members' Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart.

Following the game, Ingram spoke about the warm welcome, showing his appreciation for the adoring Lakers crowd.

Brandon Ingram finished the game with 22 points on 10-of-27 shooting, along with two 3-pointers, three rebounds, three assists, and a couple of blocks in 35 minutes of play. Despite his noteworthy effort, though, it was the home side who emerged victorious, as former Pelican Anthony Davis caught fire against his old team once again.

Davis torched New Orleans for a game-high 46 points (15-of-21 from the field, 13-of-13 from the line), three 3-pointers, 13 rebounds, an assist, three steals, and one block in what was one of his most impressive showings in a Lakers uniform.

It is worth noting that another former Laker, Ball, also had himself a ballgame, scoring 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting, to go along with a couple of 3-pointers, two rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 33 minutes of action.

This loss ends New Orleans' impressive four-game winning streak, as they are now in possession of an 11-24 record. They are in the midst of a back-to-back set and will be back in action on Saturday, as they hope to get back to winning ways against the struggling Sacramento Kings.
