New Orleans Pelicans small forward Brandon Ingram reacted to winning the 2019-20 Most Improved Player of the Year Award during his interview with TNT on Monday.

Although the interview got caught off due to technical difficulties, Ingram was able to thank God and pat himself on the back for returning from his serious blood clot issue, per Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com.

Brandon Ingram was arguably the main player the Pelicans acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers in the Anthony Davis trade. The talented swingman made his first All-Star team in 2019-20 and has firmly established himself as one of the best young scorers in the NBA.

Ingram and his family should be receiving even more good news once the 2020 offseason begins following the conclusion of the 2020 Finals at Disney World. The Pelicans are widely expected to sign Ingram to a lucrative max contract in restricted free agency.

As a restricted free agent, Ingram can sign an offer sheet with another team and the Pelicans would have 48 hours to match the offer or let Ingram walk. However, there has been no indication that Ingram has plans to even meet with other clubs.

In 62 games this season, Ingram averaged 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 33.9 minutes per game. He was efficient, too, as the North Carolina shot 46.3 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from beyond the arc and 85.1 percent from the free-throw line.
