Zion Williamson has long been compared to Charles Barkley, for more reasons than one. The New Orleans Pelicans star is undersized for a big man but uses his combination of heft and explosiveness to overpower defenders in the paint.

But one other similarity between the two seems to be how they both tipped the scales early in their careers. The Pelicans star has made headlines this season for some unflattering photos that give off the appearance that he's much heavier than his desired playing weight.

The comparison has never been lost on the Chuckster, who gave Zion Williamson some basic, yet very sound advice on his diet.

ā€œI'm going to put Zion on that diet I was on at one point,ā€ said Barkley on his advice to the Pelicans star. ā€œIf it tastes good, spit it out.ā€

Zion Williamson has yet to take the court this season as he makes progress recovering from a fractured foot. He's reportedly been practicing away from the Pelicans organization, but expressed his desire to rejoin the team as soon as possible.

ā€œAs you can imagine, this has been a very difficult process for me,ā€ Williamson said. ā€œI know there's work to be done in my recovery before I can safely return to the court, but I will continue to put in the time necessary so I can get back on the floor with my team and represent Pelicans fans and the city of New Orleans at the highest level.ā€

New Orleans Pelicans fans have probably had enough with the fat jokes, unflattering snapshots, and trade rumors. They just want Zion Williamson back on the court.
