The New Orleans Pelicans have made some brilliant moves to acquire a legitimate roster. Hopefully, Zion Williamson returns soon as he is the missing piece for this franchise. Regardless, it sounds like CJ McCollum is getting acclimated with the organization well, as he left an inspiring message to the fans after his team defeated the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Jim Eichenhofer, CJ McCollum expressed his love for the city of New Orleans and the “winning culture” built within the Pelicans organization. Considering the McCollum was traded from a struggling Portland Trail Blazers team, this has to be a breath of fresh air for him.

Unfortunately, the Pelicans currently sit in 10th place in the Western Conference. They're potentially going to participate in the play-in game, which isn't a bad scenario for this team after watching them defeat the Lakers. New Orleans has struggled to maintain relevance but they have a chance to make some noise in the final stretch of the regular season.

With CJ McCollum, the Pelicans now have legitimate scoring from the perimeter. He forms a dangerous duo with Brandon Ingram, who has continued to make strides as a small forward for this team. If they can make the postseason, New Orleans could wind up being a dark horse favorite to at least upset an opponent in a seven-game series.

We'll see how it all plays out, but either way, CJ McCollum is grateful to be playing for the Pelicans. They might not be winning the championship this year, but the future is bright for New Orleans. Make sure to catch their next game on Wednesday, as they face off against the Sacramento Kings.
