Was New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday snubbed from the NBA All-Defensive teams? Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard, who has had many battles with Holiday, certainly thinks so.

On Twitter, Lillard retweeted and commented on JJ Redick's thoughts on Holiday's exclusion from the All-Defensive Team.

The NBA released the All-Defensive First and Second Teams on Tuesday, but the Pelicans guard was noticeably absent on the list. Members of the First Team are Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis, Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert, and Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart.

On the other hand, the 2019-20 NBA All-Defensive Second Team consists of Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard, Bucks center Brook Lopez, Miami Heat forward Bam Adebayo, Clippers guard Patrick Beverley and Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe.

Holiday received 18 total voting points among guards, behind Kris Dunn of the Chicago Bulls (31) and Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors (23).

Several weeks ago, Damian Lillard appeared on Redick's podcast where he said that Jrue Holiday, in his opinion and experience, is the best defensive guard in the league. Dame looked back on the 2018 postseason where they matched up with the Pelicans in the first round. During that time, the Blazers were the third seed while the Pels were the sixth.

In the podcast, Lillard explained how Holiday defended him. The Pelicans were not just able to pull off the upset, but they did it in a convincing fashion by sweeping the Blazers.
