New Orleans Pelicans vice president of basketball operations David Griffin says small forward Brandon Ingram has stood out to him in training camp.

Ingram's playmaking skills are something Griffin has been impressed by.

Last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Brandon Ingram averaged 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from beyond the arc and 67.5 percent from the free-throw line. He played in just 52 games after being shut down for the season due to Deep Vein Thrombosis in his right arm.

Ingram is a talented scorer who will be an important piece for the Pelicans this season. His ball-handling ability and length make him a very versatile asset for New Orleans. Ingram is 6-foot-9 and has a 7-foot wingspan.

Some around the league believe the Pelicans can make the playoffs this season with their new revamped roster. Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart are going to be motivated to play well in their new setting, rookie Zion Williamson figures to put on a show, and veterans Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick and Derrick Favors will carry the load on offense and provide solid leadership in the locker room.

The Pelicans are eager to get the season started. It's great to see Ingram back on the floor after the health scare he dealt with last season.
