David Griffin, the executive vice president of basketball operations for the New Orleans Pelicans, has revealed that he received various trade offers for Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart.

Griffin revealed the interesting tidbit in their introductory press conference last Tuesday. To recall, the three players were some of the prime assets they received from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis. Griffin shared that his decision not to trade the young guns was influenced by Hart's firmness to stay in New Orleans. Per Sam Quinn of 247 Sports:

“Josh called me before the draft, after we made the trade to acquire these gentlemen, and said ‘I know you can get a lot for me,’ and we literally had received offers from everyone here from the Lakers at that time,’ and he said, ‘Whatever you do, don’t trade me. I really want to be in New Orleans.'”

Up to a certain extent, fans and analysts alike saw the trade coming. A bunch of the Lakers' young guns were expected to be shipped out to the Pelicans. It was just a matter of who and when. And during the long wait, they were the subject of memes and jokes from fans.

Now, Ingram, Ball, and Hart are officially donning the Pelicans jerseys. They will be teaming up with top guard Jrue Holiday, as well as this year's biggest rookie, Zion Williamson. And contrary to what everyone says, they seem to be happy with their new team. It's a fresh start for the young trio.
