The New Orleans Pelicans are no longer in the Anthony Davis era after shipping the talented big man to Los Angeles. Instead, they will go into the 2019-20 season with no true star, but brimming with young talent.

One player that embodies this young talent is Lonzo Ball. The third-year point guard will pair with Jrue Holiday in the Pelicans' backcourt, and teammate E'Twaun Moore is psyched to see it happen.

“Oh man, they [Ball and Holiday] could be real dominant,” Moore told Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype. “Both of those guys hawk the ball and are really aggressive. They can both switch one-through-three or one-through-four. They can lock down most people. They’re going to make us very versatile and they’re going to be really tough to play against.”

For all of Ball's offensive inconsistencies, he has already shown the potential to become one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. His size and length paired with an uncanny knack to read passing lanes allow him to be deadly on the defensive end.

Holiday is already established in the league as a top perimeter defender. He was an All-Defensive First team member in 2018 and All-Defensive second team in 2019. Last season, he consistently defended the opposing team's best guard and frequently did an excellent job.

With Ball and Holiday in the backcourt, the Pels look set defensively. Now, all they need is some offensive punch, which might come from NBA rookie Zion Williamson.
