Speaking to local reporters on Thursday, New Orleans Pelicans interim general manager Danny Ferry said starting point guard Jrue Holiday's minutes will probably come down moving forward.

Holiday is third in the NBA in minutes per game at 36.4.

The second half of the season is going to be very uncomfortable in New Orleans.

Anthony Davis is still on the team and will play. The franchise will resume trade talks on him once the offseason starts. In the meantime, head coach Alvin Gentry and the rest of the players will be alongside a player who doesn't want to be with them.

Jrue Holiday is averaging 21.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game this season for the Pelicans. The 28-year-old All-Star guard is shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 31.8 percent from beyond the arc and 76.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Will New Orleans try and trade Holiday in the summer after moving Davis? It's possible. Jrue wants to play on a contender, and with AD gone, the Pelicans would become a lottery team depending on the type of assets they get in return for The Brow. Holiday's future in The Big Easy is one to pay attention to closely.

Jrue Holiday signed a five-year $131.8 million contract with the Pelicans in the summer of 2017.
