LaVar Ball and his Big Baller Brand appear to be on the verge of striking down a partnership deal with New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Crawford, according to an earlier report by Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Crawford and his representation are in talks for a partnership deal with Big Baller Brand, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Although Crawford has yet to put ink on paper with regards to this looming endorsement deal, Charania noted that the former Xavier Musketeer guard is expected to see Big Baller Brand goods at his doorstep soon.

The company is expected to send Crawford new merchandise, including shoes, this week for the NBA playoffs. Crawford became the first NBA player — besides Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball — to wear the brand this season and has continued to do so in the postseason.

While Crawford lacks the global name recognition that a typical shoe endorser has, this could still be considered a good development for Big Baller Brand, which is still trying to carve out space for itself in a competitive market dominated by the likes of Nike and Adidas.

Jordan Crawford played in only five games back in the regular season with the Pelicans and averaged only 6.6 points on 44.4 field goal shooting percentage, 2.6 assists, and 0.8 rebounds. He did not see any action during Saturday’s 97-95 road win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 1 of their first-round playoffs matchup.

Taken 27th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft, Crawford has played for the Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, and the Pelicans in his NBA career.
