With next season being his first full one with the New Orleans Pelicans, Jordan Crawford is optimistic about his team’s chances of making it all the way to the playoffs. Following the addition of Rajon Rondo, Ian Clark and Tony Allen to their fold this offseason, he understands that they have a special lineup that can compete against some of the title favorites of the league.

The 28-year-old Xavier product recently talked about the good mix of players the Pelicans now have. He also shared his thoughts about it, via Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype, where he said that because of good communication between his teammates, they know now how much they need to sacrifice for the team to be a winning group once again.

“We’ve talked about how big of a year this is for everybody; it’s important that we win and take advantage of this opportunity since we have so much talent on the team,” Crawford said. “Recently, we’ve been talking about the team that we’ve assembled and what we can do together. We really have a neat team because we’re not too young, but we’re not too old either. We kind of have that perfect combination [of experience and untapped potential] that could allow us go to go deep in the playoffs. We don’t really talk about it a lot, but we do expect to make the playoffs. With that said, we know that there’s uncertainty every season and we all have make sacrifices to get to that point. Guys are communicating really well. I can’t wait for the season to start.”

Although Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins are still their focal points on offense, their role players like Crawford are all expected to step up their games, and contribute to the team's cause. He is a five-year NBA veteran who has played for five different franchises, and also has playoff experience under his belt, which will come in handy for them.

If the 6-foot-5 hybrid guard can provide the Pelicans with quality minutes off the bench night in and night out, it will definitely boost their chances of winning a lot of games. It could also lead him to a more lucrative contract in the future, and set his future as well.
