New Orleans Pelicans guard Josh Hart clarified himself on Twitter after he took a jab at his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, on a recent podcast.
Hart was included in the trade package the Lakers sent to the Pelicans in exchange for Anthony Davis. The third-year veteran wanted to make clear he's thankful for his two years with the Purple and Gold:
Let’s make this clear. I loved my time in LA and loved my coaches, teammates and training staff. Got nothing but love and respect for the front office

Hart later followed it up with this tweet, which explained why he previously made the salty comment about the Lakers:
I played my ass off for the purple and gold. Played hurt and never had an excuse. I’m truly grateful to the Lakers organization and I do understand the NBA is a business. But as a player you just want the courtesy of a phone call saying I got traded and not finding out on Twitter

The Lakers selected Hart with the 30th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, and he showed a lot of promise during his rookie year. However, he struggled with a nagging knee injury, which resulted in lower production.
Hart knew his days with the Lakers were likely numbered as soon as the team began their pursuit of Davis back in February, and he understands the business of the deal. All he wanted was proper communication with LA's front office during the process. He simply wanted things to be done professionally, and he wasn't happy with how everything was handled.
Hart clearly just wanted to get these issues off his chest and is now prepared to move on. He's ready to write a new chapter of his career with the Pelicans, and he hopes to do a better job this time around.
