It appears Josh Hart's reported deal with the New Orleans Pelicans is pushing through without any hiccups.

As Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported, Hart and the Pelicans are closing in on a three-year deal that will pay the veteran guard $38 million. While the contract is not finalized and Hart has yet to put pen to paper, it looks like it is all but a done deal based on the reaction of the 26-year-old.

On Twitter, Hart first sent out heart emojis showing the Pelicans' colors. In a follow-up tweet, he posted a short clip of a man celebrating.

Can't blame Josh Hart for his reaction, though. He played his cards well and stayed patient, resulting to a deal that will pay him a little over $12 million per year.

The Pelicans know they need Hart as well, considering that they are now lacking depth in the backcourt after the departure of Lonzo Ball, who signed a massive multi-million deal with the Chicago Bulls.

Hart has been a solid player for the Pelicans since joining New Orleans in the Anthony Davis blockbuster back in 2019. He averaged 9.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 112 games for the team in two seasons, but new head coach Willie Green will certainly be expecting more from him after he got paid handsomely.
