New Orleans Pelicans swingman Josh Hart is not one to mince words, and the 25-year-old proved just that on Tuesday. Hart responded to a recent tweet by United States President Donald Trump by calling the commander-in-chief a “dumbass.”

Hart took offense in Trump's criticism of the current state of the NBA, and the 6-foot-5 guard/forward did not hold back:

Hart is not the first player to call out the President for his unrelenting tirade against the league. In particular, Trump has been overly critical of how players have opted to take a knee during the national anthem, which in his mind, is an utter showing of disrespect for the American flag and everything it stands for.

Hart is just one of the latest in a long line of NBA personalities to take a shot at Trump. However, there's no denying that his haymaker is one of the most straightforward, brutal, and downright fearless “critiques” on the President.

As for his basketball, Hart did not exactly have a grand time in Disney World for the Pelicans. He averaged just 9.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in eight bubble games, and much like most of his teammates, was pedestrian throughout.

Hart will be entering the final year of his current deal next season, and it will be interesting to see if the Pelicans keep him on board and decide to offer him an extension. Alternatively, they could also use his expiring deal as an asset in any potential trade deal in the offseason.
