It won't happen, but Jrue Holiday hopes New Orleans Pelicans fans are respectful to Anthony Davis on Wednesday.

After Davis' trade request went public last season, he was booed by Pelicans fans at home games. He even gave the middle finger to one fan after the fan was talking smack.

So, it's safe to say Pelicans fans are going to boo Davis all night long on Wednesday despite Holiday's comments:

Davis averaged 23.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.4 blocks in 466 games with the Pelicans. He only made it past the first round of the playoffs once.

The Los Angeles Lakers currently have the best record in the NBA. Davis is putting up 25.1 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists on the season while shooting 47.4 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from beyond the arc and 88.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Holiday and Davis trained together over the summer even after the Pelicans traded AD. Holiday and Davis are very close friends off the court, so they are still going to have a relationship despite not being on the same team anymore.

However, the two stars are going to go at each other when the Pelicans and Lakers play on Wednesday since they are both fierce competitors. Holiday, who grew up a Lakers fan, is looking forward to playing against Davis even though he knows it’s going to be strange seeing AD in a different uniform.
