New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday has come away impressed by how professional rookie Zion Williamson is.

Williamson is only 19, but Holiday says the 2019 No. 1 overall pick takes everything very seriously when it comes to basketball.

“He’s a monster,” Holiday said, via Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “Having Zion has been really cool. He definitely surprised me professionally. Obviously, coming from college at 19, he is a little kid at heart. But the way he handles it is like an ultimate professional.”

Williamson underwent surgery to repair a torn lateral meniscus. The meniscus surgery Williamson underwent is unknown, although most experts believe it was a meniscectomy rather than a true repair since the initial estimated timeline was six to eight weeks.

Zion is the new face of the Pelicans in the post-Anthony Davis era. This isn’t how anyone in New Orleans wanted to see Williamson's NBA career begin, but his health is very important and everyone in the Big Easy just wants him to be healthy for the long haul.

In his lone season at Duke, Williamson put on an absolute show. The forward averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 68.0 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 64.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pelicans are 6-12 on the season, which is 12th place in the Western Conference standings.
