Jrue Holiday could have requested a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans during the beginning of the season after all the losing which was taking place in The Big Easy.

However, Holiday remained committed to the Pelicans because he feels like he's built for the team and situation that New Orleans is in:

“I honestly feel like I'm built for this team, and the way that we've been able to come together has really been cool,” Holiday told Jasmyn Wimbish of CBS Sports. “I feel like I'm committed to this team and the players. I know for me personally, I try not to let my teammates down, so every time I come out here I feel like I try to put on my hard hat and my armor and go out there and fight for them.”

The Pelicans are 22-31 on the season now after playing well in January. New Orleans went 9-6, with Holiday averaging 20.3 points in eight games.

Overall on the season, Holiday is putting up 19.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists. The All-NBA defender is shooting 43.9 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 72.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pelicans will look to improve to 23-31 on Tuesday when they host Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. Rookie Zion Williamson will be in the lineup after missing the previous game. The Pelicans are 4-4 with Williamson in the lineup.
