The New Orleans Pelicans will be without point guard Jrue Holiday on Monday when they take on the Utah Jazz.

Holiday is out with a left elbow contusion:

The Pelicans are 12-24 on the season. They are in 14th place in the Western Conference standings.

Holiday has appeared in 34 games this season for the Pelicans. He's averaging 19.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 34.2 percent from beyond the arc and 70.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pelicans will have a hard time defeating the Jazz without Holiday, who is one of the best two-way players in the NBA. Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, JJ Redick and Derrick Favors will have to step their games up for the Pelicans to pull off the upset over the Jazz.

Holiday's name has come up in trade rumors recently since the Pelicans appear to be on their way to missing the playoffs. The Pelicans, publicly and privately, have made it clear they want to keep Holiday this season and see what he looks like with No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson on the court. Williamson has yet to play this season after undergoing knee surgery. It’s unknown when Zion will make his regular season NBA debut with the Pelicans.

Holiday is making $26,131,111 this season. He’s owed $25,396,111 next season and has a player option worth $26,285,000 for the 2021-22 season.
