Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose knocked down the game-winner over Jrue Holiday to get a 105-103 road victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night.

Some claimed that Rose may have pushed off on Holiday to get the clean look at the turnaround 14-footer. However, Holiday himself shot down those claims:

The 2011 MVP had Holiday on an island with the game tied at 103. Rose drove down the lane, stopped on a dime, spun around, and drained the clutch turnaround jumper with the time expiring.

It's arguable that Rose may have pushed off a bit to gain some separation on the All-Defensive guard. Nevertheless, it was still a great move from the former MVP. Kudos to Holiday for acknowledging it and paying his respects to Rose as well.

Rose scored 17 points in the fourth quarter and the final six Pistons points down the stretch. He finished the game with a total of 21 points, three rebounds and seven assists and shot 9-of-17 from the field.

Prior to his game-winner, Rose made a tough layup in the paint to tie the game at 103. Before that, Rose drained a tough mid-range pull-up with a little over two minutes remaining.

The 31-year old point guard is having a solid season as the sixth man in Detroit. Through 19 games, Derrick Rose is averaging 16.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists while shooting 48.8 percent from the field.

The Pistons have won four of their last five games and are now 10-14 on the season, just 1.5 games behind the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. New Orleans, on the other hand, just lost its ninth straight contest and is at 14th in the Western Conference.
