New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday decided to wear a unique colorway of Nike's LeBron 15 during Sunday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks. Holiday's choice of footwear seems to have paid off, as he led all scorers with 30 points, seven assists, and three rebounds en route to an eighth straight win, 126-109.

Holiday, now 27 years of age, scored 19 points in the first half of Sunday's game. Aside from one late rally from the Mavericks, New Orleans managed to hold a double-digit lead for much of the contest.

“To me, Jrue is probably if not the best two-way player we have in our game,” Rajon Rondo told ESPN after Sunday's game. “One through four, he can check those guys. I think people are starting to see what he's doing just because of this win streak, but he's been doing it his whole career.”

Holiday’s Nike LeBron 15 “Pelicans” were designed by Andrew Lewis, who is one of the best sneaker artists in the business. The kicks feature a New Orleans color scheme throughout — with red, blue and gold highlights. The Pelicans logo is positioned on the tongue, and the team’s alternate insignia is in a pattern on the midsole.

In his 62 appearances with the Pelicans this season, Holiday has racked up averages of 19.4 points on 49.7 ercent shooting from the field (33.2 percent from beyond the arc), 5.6 assists, and 4.4 rebounds.

Holiday and the Pelicans, now the 4th-ranked team in the Western Conference standings with a 36-26 overall record, will be back in action on Tuesday night, as they're scheduled to face the L.A. Clippers inside the Staples Center. Tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. EST with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
