LaVar Ball recently spoke about Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans, who also serves as a teammate of his eldest son, Lonzo Ball. He then defended the sophomore star from talking heads who are constantly criticizing Williamson's playing shape, which is indicative of Ball's respect for the 20-year-old's abilities on the court.

“That Zion has always been a good eater and a hefty dude, and plays how he plays. He a big country boy, leave him alone. He loves basketball and has a big body. He can’t help it that he’s that big and can move like that. People like to create the ‘he’s too big narrative,’ but he’s jumping out of the gym at 220. Who cares! He runs 100 miles an hour!” Ball claimed via The Truth Podcast.

He also questioned Williamson's limited minutes in the Orlando Bubble which caused the Pelicans to come up short of snagging the eighth and final seat in the Western Conference playoff picture.

“Why’d they play Zion only 20 minutes? What are you saving him for? Why even make it to the bubble and not let that boy go 100 Miles an hour? Lonzo didn’t do that good with the best taken away from [him],” he added.

The former Duke standout's rookie campaign was marred by a shoulder injury which forced him to sit out a total of 44 games. He then returned to action midway through the season and generated norms of 22.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists through 24 games played.

After getting past his injury and now playing in the pink of health, the sophomore won't be having any minutes restriction for the upcoming season anymore. Getting to witness Zion Williamson wreak havoc without any limitations will indeed serve as an entertaining treat for every basketball fan including LaVar Ball.
