Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans may have lost in Tuesday's showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers, but the prized rookie did enough to impress LeBron James.

After leading the Lakers to a tight 118-109 win over the Pelicans, LeBron spoke about his impression of Williamson during the game. The King didn't hold back his praise for the 19-year-old forward and called him a “special” player whose skill set fits the modern NBA.

“The kid is special,” LeBron told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “In today's game, where it's a track race, it's fast-paced, it's high tempo, it fits his game perfectly. And the way they did play, it fits his game perfectly.”

Zion led the way for the Pelicans, who kept the game close up until the closing minutes of the game. The Duke standout recorded his ninth straight 20-point game, finishing with 29 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Unfortunately for the Pelicans, Zion's staggering numbers were not enough to counter LeBron's production. The Lakers superstar gave Williamson a lesson on taking over games, as he finished with 40 points on top of eight rebounds and six dimes in 34 minutes of action.

Zion Williamson still has a lot to learn, but as LeBron James noted, the Pelicans “got a good one” when they selected him No.1 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft.
