After being hit with a countersuit from former Big Baller Brand partner Alan Foster, new Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball, LaVar Ball and family has released a statement.

LaVar and family sued Foster last April for reportedly stealing $1.5 million in Lonzo's personal and business accounts. However, in a surprising turn of events, Foster countersued the father and son tandem for $2.5 million for alleged fraudulent concealment and breach of contract.

Foster accused LaVar of embezzling over $2.5 million from the BBB company and exploiting his children for his personal gain. Foster also claimed that LaVar spent the company's money to support and fund his luxurious lifestyle.

The Ball family, however, denied those accusations and said that Foster's claims are “unfounded.” The family also pointed out that it was only an attemenpt for foster to divert the attention away from his case and defile the Lonzo, LaVar and family.

Per Ramona Shelburne of ESPN:

“Alan Foster’s claims are not only unfounded and devoid of any truth, but are an egregious attempt to turn the attention away from the millions of dollars that he embezzled from the Ball Family and the Ball Family Business,” the statement said.

“Not only will LaVar Ball and his family continue to vigorously pursue their civil action against Foster seeking civil damages, but will also continue to cooperate with law enforcement in order to seek justice for his egregious actions.

“Alan Foster is a convicted Felon and is currently being investigated by the FBI. He has served seven years in jail for fraud and has a deep criminal past defrauding those who have placed their trust in him.  The Ball family are all united in relentlessly pursuing Foster for his grave injustices, and will always fight to protect the respected Ball family name, despite Foster’s futile attempt to defile it.”

It remains to be seen how things will end up, but it sure seems the legal battle will be ugly.
