New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball has officially separated himself from “Big Baller Brand,” the company his father LaVar Ball started.

According to documents obtained by LA Sports Radio, Ball is starting his own company called “Born to Ball Inc.” The Pelicans guard will also come out with a line titled “ApolloZo.”

Per Nick DePaula of ESPN, Lonzo Ball could sign a traditional shoe deal since it doesn't appear an “ApolloZo 1” will be released anytime soon.

The Los Angeles Lakers drafted Ball with the second overall pick in the 2017 draft out of UCLA. Lonzo averaged 10.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 99 games with the team.

In the summer of 2019, the Lakers traded Ball to the Pelicans in the blockbuster Anthony Davis deal. In his first season in New Orleans, Ball put up 11.8 points, 6.1 boards and 7.0 dimes per game while shooting 40.3 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 56.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pelicans have a bright future with Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Zion Williamson leading the way. New Orleans hired Stan Van Gundy as its new head coach and acquired a bunch of first-round picks from the Milwaukee Bucks in the Jrue Holiday trade.

With the Lakers and Pelicans, Ball has career averages of 10.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists in the regular season. He's expected to have a bigger role on offense in 2020-21 since Holiday is gone.
