New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball has gained traction in the market after it was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that the team was willing to entertain offers in exchange for his services, along with JJ Redick's. The 23-year-old didn't let the noise get to his head and remained unfazed as he netted his best game of the season against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.

“I just stay the course,” Ball said via ESPN. “I've been playing basketball for a long time. I put a lot of work in and just try to play my game. That's how I play. I just try to stay away from all the noise and just go out there and try to help my team win games.”

The Pelicans started the game against the Bucks with a 35-point outburst in the first quarter of the game. Giannis Antetokounmpo and his team tried their best to inch closer to their opponents in the third frame. They eventually managed to outscore the Pelicans, 37-28, in the fourth quarter but ultimately ran out of time to complete their comeback.

Head coach Stan Van Gundy and his squad successfully held onto their precarious lead and escaped with a 131-126 victory. Brandon Ingram topped the team in scoring with 28 points while Ball produced 27 points on 7/13 from beyond the arc which matched his career-high in three-point shots made. Zion Williamson also had himself a game as he came out with 21 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists for the Pelicans.

With a subpar 7-10 record, the team will definitely need more of Lonzo Ball's aggressiveness to score on offense if they want to win more games in the coming weeks. Despite being in an uncertain situation due to the ongoing trade talks, Lonzo Ball remains to be a Pelican to this day and his production will still be crucial for the team's success moving forward.
