For the second time this season, New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball has been awarded with an additional assist and triple-double.

The NBA has awarded an additional assist to Ball from the Pelicans' loss to the Boston Celtics on Jan. 11, giving him 10 on the night and his second triple-double of the season.

Ball becomes the seventh player in Pelicans franchise history with multiple triple-doubles in a New Orleans uniform:

In his first season with the Pelicans, Lonzo Ball is averaging 12.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 53.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Ball recorded a triple-double against the Houston Rockets after the NBA reversed three separate assists which were originally awarded to Josh Hart. Ball’s final stat line against the Rockets on Dec. 29 was 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, his first triple-double with the Pelicans. The former No. 2 overall pick got a text from Hart letting him know he had gotten the triple-double.

Ball spoke to Andrew Lopez of ESPN about his new jump shot last month. The Pelicans guard says he didn’t make any drastic changes with his shot and took it just step by step this past offseason:

“We just take it step by step,” Ball said. “It wasn’t a drastic change from the beginning. I kind of got here and he just started with my follow-through. We started with legs after that. Then we started from the left to the middle to get it to the right.

“I think now my shot is just more consistent. It feels the same throughout the game instead of how I had it last year when it was kind of adjusting throughout the game. It just comes with hard work. I’m going to keep working and hopefully [shooting percentages] will keep going up.”

The Pelicans are 14-26 on the season. They are in 14th place in the Western Conference standings.
