With the playoff eligibility waiver deadline coming up on March 1st teams are really starting to look at 10-day contracts to try and fill out their playoff rosters.

The New Orleans Pelicans have found their guy, signing Walter Lemon Jr to the short term deal.

That is the second Mad Ants player to be signed to a 10-day contract. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN had the details on the other one.

“Indiana is signing G League guard Trey McKinney-Jones to a 10-day contract, league sources tell ESPN.”

For Lemon Jr. he is a six foot three-inch guard that weighs 180 pounds. He played four years of college ball for the Bradley Braves before going undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft. He has bounced around internationally, but when he has been in the states he has played for the Mad Ants.

This year he has started 36 games for the team averaging 22.7 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game. This move gets them younger at the point guard position and gives them another good scoring option off the bench.

He should have a chance to get a good run in this 10-day contract as the Pelicans seem desperate to find anything that can help give this team a spark.

Point guard Frank Jackson is also out a little while longer with a foot injury, so he will move into the third spot on the depth chart.
