It has been a roller-coaster start to the season for the New Orleans Pelicans that has seen them hit stride in the last couple of weeks winning five out of the last six games.

According to Tommy Beer of Basketball Insiders, the Pelicans have particularly had much success against teams have struggled out of the gate of the season.

The Pelicans have been able to rely on their dominant frontcourt duo of DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis, who are two of three players in the NBA currently averaging at least 25.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. Cousins is also the only player to be averaging at least 25.0 points, 10.o rebounds and 5.0 assist per game.

However, their lack of success against the playoff caliber teams such as the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Toronto Raptors, Memphis Grizzlies, and Portland Trail Blazers. If the Pelicans hope to take the next step toward reaching the postseason this an area of much-needed improvement.

New Orleans will have a chance to avenge their loss to the Raptors on Wednesday night while also continuing to build off their recent success. They will also close the month of November with matchups against the likes of the Warriors, Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, and San Antonio Spurs.
