New Orleans Pelicans rookie guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker is out indefinitely.

Alexander-Walker has a right wrist hairline fracture, per the team:

Alexander-Walker has appeared in 41 games for the Pelicans this season. He's averaging 5.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 12.2 minutes per game while shooting 33.9 percent from the field, 34.2 percent from beyond the arc and 60.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Brooklyn Nets selected Alexander-Walker with the 17th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Nets then traded the youngster to the Pelicans on July 6, 2019.

The Pelicans, after defeating the Miami Heat on Friday at home, are now 27-36 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings, sitting four games back of Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies for the 8th spot in the West.

Basketball fans as a whole, not just Pelicans supporters, want to see New Orleans rookie Zion Williamson in the playoffs. Zion is putting up 23.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists through his first 18 NBA games. He's been a joy to watch and has the Pelicans thinking playoffs again after the season got off to a terrible start.
